Q&A with Lauren Richard, Business Development Director, at Prime Title

By Paul Gardner | Industry Topics | Comments are Closed | 22 August, 2018 | 0

What is your role at Prime Title, and how long have you been with the company?

5 months now as Business Development Director

What is your background and how has it prepared you for your role with Prime Title?

17 years of pharmaceutical sales calling on physicians has prepared me to really identify when a person is interested in using our services. There is many steps in sales to get a customer to “buy in” to what the product or service has to offer. It’s truly getting to know your customers wants and needs and getting them to choose your product.

What are some of the key skills – personal and professional – you have had to develop to
succeed as a business development professional?

Personal- My Mother and Father will tell you I have always been a very driven person. When I wanted to ride my two wheel bike, I had a dream about it and the next morning I took off and rode my two wheel bike!! Determination!
Professional- I am a person who does not give up easy. I am a person who believes professionalism and persistence is key to growing and maintaining business. You never know when someone will change their mind, and you will have a door open…

How has Prime Title grown since you have been with the company?

We have grown by hiring new staff to handle new referrals, have been more of a face and voice in real estate community. I have met new lenders and realtors that were really unaware of our services. I organized a 20 year anniversary celebration that included all the people that have supported our success. I really want the community to know that the experience and staff here are like no other…

What do you think is contributing to that growth?

Being Visible and out in the community and helping realtors and lenders and “Asking for their Support”—Appreciate the people sending you the business now.. 80/20 rule… 80 percent of business comes from top 20…

How do you find new leads for Prime Title in a crowded market space?

Truly meeting new realtor teams and lenders that are formed daily. Meet as many people as you can and identify which ones would work best with our team. There is enough business to go around for everyone…

How do you react to and handle a “No” from a lead?

Really there is usually not a clear No in this industry. It’s more of a relationship with another Title Co. Things change, people move to different companies and form new groups. Keeping that door open and treating everyone with respect and importance is my best strategy…

How do those strategies differ? Existing customers are more of a thank you and finding out what they like about us. For Potential customers is uncovering what is important to them and who they are using presently.

Customers want value. What value does Prime Title provide their clients that nobody else in the
industry provides?

One thing I have immediately found out about these guys are that they are very humble and talented. Each have a unique quality that they bring to others. Ultimately they are concise, professional, and a caring team. They treat others like they would want to be treated and just stand up values! This is instilled in their excellent staff. These ladies are just super proficient and wonderful to work with… They are the “behind the scenes” support, but we all know they play a pivotal role in getting the job done!
