Sweet Spots for Sweethearts

Valentine’s Day is fast-approaching, which means it’s time to make your dinner reservations. There are a number of restaurants in Lafayette that would be perfect for a night out, whether you are going for elegant, casual, romantic or fun.

And no matter your choice of cuisine, there is a perfect spot for you and your sweetheart to enjoy a delicious meal. Whether celebrating your first Valentine’s Day or your 50th, or anywhere in between, you won’t regret choosing any one of these spots.

Charley G’s is a locally-owned casual, upscale restaurant that features a southern-style seafood and steakhouse menu that changes based on the availability of local seafood and produce. With a wine menu that features over 100 options and live piano music, it is a great spot for a more formal, romantic dinner.

Nash’s Restaurant is an Italian seafood and steakhouse that features over 50 dishes served “New Orleans style.” Situated in an old victorian house in Broussard, the casual dining atmosphere is romantic yet relaxed. From the wine to the desserts, you won’t regret any of your choices.

Pamplona Tapas Bar in downtown Lafayette offers a unique dining experience for sweethearts. The restaurant infuses the traditional flavors of Pamplona, Spain with international twists to create a menu of tastes and flavors that will excite any palate. The tapas style is perfect for adventurous couples looking to try a variety of delicious dishes while sipping Spanish wine.

Cafe Vermilionville serves classic and unique cajun and creole dishes. The restaurant is housed in an old, historic inn that was actually occupied by federal soldiers during the Civil War. The dress is casual elegant, but the mood and ambiance are old world and romantic.

Tsunami Sushi is a great place to go for a relaxed, sociable Valentine’s dinner. The menu is a combination of Japanese and Eastern flare dishes that feature sushi, fish and steaks to make sure there is a little bit of something for everyone.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is the perfect spot for couples looking for a traditional, romantic steakhouse dinner. The food is consistently fantastic, with both seafood and steak options and a selection of shareable sides to make any mouth happy. The bar is a quaint, quiet spot to enjoy a drink while waiting for your table.

Marcello’s Wine Market & Cafe is an Italian restaurant in Lafayette that serves traditional Italian dishes. Italian food and romance go hand-in-hand, so you can’t go wrong bringing your Valentine to this casual elegant eatery for a glass of wine and a delicious bowl of pasta.

Ruffino’s on the River is a popular dining spot in Lafayette for a good reason. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere both romantic and casual. Grab a drink at the bar while waiting for your table and enjoy the complimentary cotton candy at the end of your meal. You can’t go wrong when choosing Ruffino’s.

These are certainly not the only romantic spots for a Valentine’s Day dinner in Lafayette, but they are some of the more popular options of the locals. Just be sure to call early to make your reservation. They will book up quickly.
